Bradley Thomas

Bradley Laird Thomas, 58, of Jeffersonville, Ind., formerly of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Brad was born on Sept. 24, 1963, son of the late Nathan “Kayo” Thomas and the late Sally Sue Flinn Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Nile R. “Porky” Flinn and Garnet E. Mortimer Flinn; and paternal grandparents, Clarence W. Thomas and Bertie E. McElrath Thomas.

Brad is survived by his life partner, Diana Hinkle, of Jeffersonville, Ind.; his children: Brittany Lee Thomas Adams and husband Josh Adams, of Brandenburg, Ky., Madison Renae Thomas, of Louisville, Ky., and Russell and Mallori Hinkle, of Louisville, Ky; and his grandchildren, whom he adored, Averlee Reagan Adams, Remi Blake Adams, Ayla Raylyn Hinkle and Reya Renee Hinkle. He is also survived by his siblings, Tracy L. Thomas Shackelford and husband William B. Shackelford II, of Reedsville, and Wendy B. Thomas and husband, David S. Puderbaugh, of Morgantown; his niece, Harlie Linn Shackelford; and nephews, Luke Anthony Puderbaugh, Dylan Thomas Puderbaugh and David Cameron Puderbaugh.

Brad grew up in Morgantown and was a proud graduate of Morgantown High School as well as West Virginia University. You could often find him at The Pines golfing, volunteering at the hospitals and enjoying his collegiate days as a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. After graduating from the WVU School of Physical Therapy, Brad left Morgantown to join another WVU Alum as a physical therapist in Kentucky, but he always remained a faithful Mountaineer wherever he went.

Brad was a devoted father and grandfather who always beamed with pride over his children and grandchildren. In his spare time, Brad was an avid boater and loved to spend his Wednesday afternoons with his beloved life partner, Diana Hinkle, at the Clarke County Conservation Club.

Brad’s contagious smile and pleasant personality made him a friend to many. He deeply cherished his neighbors of Riverwood Forest, coworkers and patients from VNA and friends from the CCC club, Redneck Yacht Club and Admiral’s Anchor dock.

Family and friends will be received at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Ind., from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 16. A funeral service will be held at Scott Funeral Home, at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 17. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery with a view of the river where Brad made so many fond memories with his boating friends and family.
