Sara Tucker Stout, 53, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. She fought a courageous battle with ovarian cancer since her diagnosis in Oct. 2017. Sara was born April 1, 1969, in Morgantown, the daughter of Patricia (Hegeman) and the late William James Tucker.
In addition to her father, Sara was preceded in death by a grandson, Samuel Tucker Stout.
She is survived by her mother, Patricia; her loving husband and high school sweetheart, Christopher H. Stout, whom she married Nov. 17, 1990; sons, Alex (Madison) Stout, of Clarksburg, and Nicholas Stout, of Xenia, Ohio; grandson, Noah; siblings, Connie (Shawn) Weaver, of West Virginia, William James (Ala) Tucker II, of North Carolina, and Andrew Tucker (Pam Vassallo), of West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sara graduated from Morgantown High School, Class of 1987 and earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wichita State University. She was very crafty and enjoyed sewing. She was an avid handbell player, collector and overall enthusiast. She was excited to have been able to work at Schulmerich Bells in Hatfield, Pa., where she had been able to refurbish bells in addition to working in the accounting department. She was a member of several handbell and vocal choirs over the years, including most recently with Faith Community UMC in Xenia, Ohio. She also played the clarinet and oboe in numerous ensembles.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 503 W. High St.. Morgantown, at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 13. Reception to follow. Burial will take place privately.
