
Audrey Summers, 91, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly known as Golden Living. She was born on Nov. 17, 1930, daughter of the late Lloyd and Inus (Murray) Lewis.
Audrey worked 40 years during her life, consisting of Morgan Shirt Factory, Sterling Faucet, Thorofare Markets, WVU Housing Department and finishing her work career at Mylan.
Audrey loved the Lord and served as a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church on the Kingwood Pike where she played the piano and sang in the choir. She enjoyed traveling, caring for her granddaughter, cooking and baking, attending family reunions, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and maintaining her prize-winning flower beds.
Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Ray Summers Jr.; her children, Dennis (Marlene) Summers, Nieman Summers and Tracey (Brian) Henderson; granddaughter, Madison Henderson; step-granddaughter, Lindsey (Nick) Dowling; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was the last remaining child. Those who preceded her in death were seven brothers: Edgar Murray, Gerald Lewis, Ralph Lewis, Dale Lewis, Darris Lewis, Robert Lewis and infant Clarence Lewis; two sisters, Ardith McDonald and Dana Hall; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Summers.
Family would like to thank Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation Center for all the love and care shown not only to Audrey, but to her family as well. The family would also like to thank Hospice.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce, St., Morgantown, from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 9 and from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon on Friday, June 10 with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
