Bernard Cale

Bernard Cloyd Cale, 82, of Masontown, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, at home.

He was born in Masontown, on Nov. 29, 1939, a son of the late Herbert Cloyd and Nettie Marie (Wolfe) Cale.

Bernard was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in the garden and cutting firewood. He also liked to hunt, fish and go camping. Bernard worked as a coal miner at Blacksville #1 and Humphry #7. He also worked for Pittsburgh Valve in Reedsville and Pullman Concrete.

Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Juliann (Dunn) Cale; one son, Tim Cale and wife Peggy, of Masontown; two daughters, Kathy O. (Cale) Shaw, of Arthurdale, and SueAnn Marie Hostetler and husband Joe, of Masontown; seven grandchildren, Clayton, Emily, Karina, Ferressa, Joshua, Skylar and Caleb; six great-grandchildren, Harley, Daniel, Phillip, Logan, Presley and Branson; one brother, James Cale, of Masontown; several nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Donna Lanham.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David Arthur Cale and Alfred Cale.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time on Thursday, May 12, with Pastor Phillip Dulin officiating. To honor Bernard’s wishes, cremation services will be provided.
