He is survived by one daughter, Alexandria Walls; a son-in-law, Nicholas Capan; three grandchildren, Devin Walls, Dominic Capan and Cameron Capan; four siblings, Judith McDonald, Mike (and Maryanne) Walls, Terry (and Cheryl) Walls and Vickie Walls; nieces and nephews, Julie Leach, Jimmy Leach, Dee Dee (and Jason) Ross, Sondra Brown, Jamie Jefferson (and Jereal) Dorsey, Derek Jefferson, Michael Walls and Jeremy Walls; as well as some very close friends that he considered his family, Betty Dean, Kimberly Selman, Jessica Fleming, Dallas Selman, Lillian Fleming, Laci Fleming and Leiden Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Tina Jefferson and Donna “Jeanne” Crawford.
Roger answered the call to serve his country in April 1966 and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in September 1968. One of Roger’s talents, and something he enjoyed very much, was drawing. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, especially when a cookout was involved. He was a man who cherished special memories and labeled items so that he would always remember those moments and precious items in his life.
Honoring Roger’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Fred Jenkins Funeral Home. A memorial gathering will be hosted by Kimberly Selman at God’s Family Bible Church in Morgantown, at 2 p.m. on May 21, 2022. He will be laid to rest alongside his mother at Eden United Methodist Church Cemetery at a later date.
