Joseph Albert Toothman, 79, of Morgantown, passed peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2022. He was the son of the late Paul and Mable Toothman.
Joe was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force years 1962-1968 and was very proud of the time he spent serving his county. He also took great pride in his work as a custodian at the Sabraton Elementary School. When he was able, he enjoyed going fishing at his sister’s ponds in Georgia and would get especially excited when he would catch a large bass.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, DeWayne “Skip” Toothman, George “Bud” Toothman, James Ray Toothman, Jackson “Jack” Toothman and Paul Toothman; a sister, Cora Parkerson; a daughter, Erin Trickett; and his parents.
Joe is survived by one sister, Corrine Thiel; a close friend and pastor, James “Jim” Cooley; a grandson, Seth Trickett; a stepdaughter, Shay Shakeypole; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, with Pastor Jim Cooley officiating. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at the WV National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
