Estol Gans, 96, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Pennsylvania, a son of the late Mildred Gans.
Estol honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed for many years with the Federal Aviation Administration. He also owned and operated airplanes for most of his life.
He was an avid ham radio operator. He loved watching wrestling matches and war movies, playing cards, solving mechanical problems and going to church.
Estol is survived by one son, Mark Gans; brother-in-law James Wolfe Jr. and wife Bonnie; nephew, James Wolfe III and wife Tracy; and a niece, Tracy Lynn Wolfe.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Guyla Gans in 2021.
No services are planned and a private burial will take place at a later date.
