Sarah Ruth LaFon Matvey, 47, born Sept. 4, 1975, passed away on March 15, 2022. She attended Alliance Christian School and Marantha Christian School in Morgantown and graduated from Calvary Baptist Christian School in Teays Valley. At the time of her passing, she was employed at an eatery in Teays Valley.
Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Eddie E. LaFon and her brother, William Edward “Ed” LaFon. She is survived by her two daughters, Miranda Lee (Lucas) Walker, in Las Vegas, and Isabella “Izzy” Renee Matvey, of Teays Valley. Other surviving relatives include her mother, Ruth W. LaFon, of Morgantown; brother, Timothy LaFon, of Morgantown; brother, Matthew LaFon (Melisa), of Estes Park, Colo.; and friend and sister-in-law, K. B. LaFon-Harris, of Morgantown. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews: Jordan, Shayne, Amber, Emily, Nicholas and Christopher.
