Sandra Sue Davis, 76, of Arthurdale, known by her family and friends as “Suzie,” entered into eternal rest on Sunday March 20, 2022.
Born Dec. 31, 1945, Suzie was the daughter of original Arthurdale homesteaders, the late Claude William and Hazel Marie (Jenkins) Bonnette.
Suzie graduated from the Binghamton Beauty College in New York in 1965. She and her husband of 58 years, Richard O. “Richie” Davis, moved back to Arthurdale in 1969. For over 30 years, she lived out her dream of owning her own beauty shop, the Stylette Beauty Salon, which Richie built for her. Though the demands of running her own business and being a faithful and devoted mother and grandmother kept her busy, Suzie still found the time to volunteer at Arthurdale Heritage, bake delicious foods, crochet, raise a garden, read many books and snack on Peanut M&Ms. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Arthurdale.
In addition to her beloved husband, Suzie leaves behind her daughters, Kelly Lynn Collins (Allen), of Morgantown, and Amber Dawn Crimm (David), of Flemington. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Clayton and Jacob Collins and Lillie and Lane Crimm; her brother, Tom Bonnette (Dianna), of Arthurdale; sister, Jean McLaughlin, of Arthurdale; and numerous nieces, nephews, loving friends and neighbors, many of whom became acquainted with Suzie at the Stylette.
Friends may call at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville, from noon until the time of the 2 p.m. memorial service in the funeral home’s chapel on Saturday March 26, with the Rev. Steven E. Lightner officiating. Private inurnment will be in the Arthurdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Arthurdale Heritage, P.O. Box 850, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
