Marvin R. Taylor, 79, of Masontown, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Marvin was born in Masontown, on Aug. 30, 1942, a son of the late Colonel R. and Alma Iris (Sisler) Taylor.
Marvin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked at the WVU Reedsville Farm and drove school bus for Preston County for more than 30 years. Marvin was a man of faith and was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Independence. He also shared his talents by playing and singing in the gospel group, “The Bluebirds.”
Marvin is survived by his children, Franklin Petak and wife Gina, of Reedsville, and Teresa Ambrosio, of Springfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Kay (Groves) Taylor.
Friends and family may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, March 24. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, with Pastor Jim Carder officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Masontown.
