Edgar James Huggins Sr., 83, of Myrtle Beach S.C., entered eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on March 5, 2022, at his home. Ed was born in Pursglove on June 25, 1938, the son of Harry Huggins and Olive Krenosky.
He was a Baptist by faith and was a Deacon in Trinity Baptist Church. He was a devout Christian and he encouraged others to be the same.
Ed was the mine manager at American Electric Power for a number of years. He attributed his success to operating various coal mines.
Ed enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his wife, Zeta Auvil Huggins, of Myrtle Beach S.C..; children, Edgar Huggins (Betty), of Wadestown, Terri Huggins Bennett (D.J.), of Myrtle Beach S.C., Perry Huggins (Robin), of Myrtle Beach S.C., Allan Huggins (Niki), of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Tamara Huggins (David), of Myrtle Beach S.C.; grandchildren, Matthew (Shawna), Trista, Kylie (Matt), Chadd (Tiffany), Allan (Samantha), Caitlin, Allison, Samoni (Michael) and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Kya, Maksim, Kealey, Jett, Jackson, Christian and Layla Rae, whom we are expecting in September; sisters, Delores Lucas, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Gloria Powroznik, of Morgantown, and Joyce Taylor, of Morgantown; brother, Robert Huggins, of Zephyrhills, Fla.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Cost; and brothers, Harlan Huggins, Gail Huggins and Herman Huggins.
Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation at McCulla Funeral Home, from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, with Pastor Eddie Woods officiating. Entombment will follow in Beverly Hills Cemetery Mausoleum in Morgantown.
