Katrina Cathleen Elliott Smith, 58, passed away on Jan. 23, 2022, in Indiana, Pa. Katrina, born in Morgantown on Aug. 15, 1963, attended West Virginia University, majoring in design, and later attended the Culinary Academy of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, graduating at the top of her class.
She met and married David while working in Pennsylvania, and they raised four beautiful children. She loved to teach her children, cook, explore new activities and traveling to many places around the country and the world. She especially enjoyed the Nutcracker ballet, collecting recipes and community cookbooks, going on quirky and fascinating adventures and celebrating obscure holidays.
Katrina is remembered by her husband, David Smith; sons, Payton (Alanna) and Shae; and daughters, Quinn and Raeleigh; mother, Joy Elliott; siblings, Kendall Elliott II (Jane), Karen Galentine (David) and Kreg Elliott; niece, Kendall Elliott; nephews, Kristopher and Konner Elliott; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Kendall C. Elliott, and mother-in-law, Sara Smith.
A memorial service will be held at the Rustic Lodge, 2199 Oakland Ave, Indiana, Pa., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in remembrance of Katrina E. Smith.
