Lorma Wilhelm

Lorma Katherine (Brown) Bennett Wilhelm, 87, of Reedsville, entered into eternal rest from her home on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022. She was born in Reedsville on May 28, 1934, a daughter of the late Hoy Buckner and Thelma Lucille McKinney Brown.

She was the salutatorian of her 1952 class at Masontown High School. While living in Ohio, she worked for the American Greetings card company and was a real estate agent. She grew up attending the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, where she continued to be an active member and supporter her entire life. Lorma was one of the original organizers of the Valley Ambulance Service. She served as its president, secretary-treasurer and EMT and was an avid fundraiser for the organization.

She is survived by five children: Donna Walker (Charlie), of Morgantown, Mila Bennett, of Michigan, James Bennett (Deanna), of Arthurdale, Lori DeSantis, of Reedsville, and Gerald Bennett (Lucy), of Reedsville; two stepsons, Scott Wilhelm and Mark Wilhelm (Debbie), of Kanes Creek; best friend and brother-in-law, Harland Dunaway;16 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Donald Bennett and Foster Wilhelm; brother, Lynn Brown; and sister, Lenora Dunaway.

Friends may call at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville, from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday and at the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, from noon until the time of the funeral services at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, with Pastor John Brosky officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Shay’s Chapel Cemetery.
