
Norma Y., (Owens/Nestor) Holt, 87, passed away peacefully at Preston Memorial Hospital on Feb. 10, 2022.
She was born in St. George on Jan. 2, 1935 to the late John and Lela Pearl (King) Owens. She spent her childhood on the family farm in Tucker County with her 12 siblings. After graduating from Parsons High School, she married her first husband, Woodrow “Woodie” Nestor, in 1953 and they moved from the hills of West Virginia to Ohio before returning to Gladesville. After Woodie passed, Norma married George Howard Holt in 1972 and moved to Arthurdale, where she spent the remainder of her life. Norma was a dedicated employee and retired from Streets Store. She spent her retirement years with her loving family, caring for her flowers and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her famous raisin filled cookies, beautiful flowers, amazing garden and ability to always see the good in others.
Norma is survived by her children: Beverly (Bob) Wolfe, of Independence; Charles (Debbie) Nestor, of Fellowsville, Debbie (Mike) Sisler, of Independence, Nancy (Keith) Molnar, of Farmington, Minn., Joe (Anna) Holt, of Volga, Wilma McClung and Linda Holt, both of Clifton Forge, Va., and Donnie (Bonnie) Holt, of Arthurdale; her four remaining siblings, Melvin Owens, Bruce (Carol) Owens, Jean (Richard) Myers and David (Jenny) Owens; and her numerous grandchildren: Rob (Lora) Wolfe, Aaron (Judy) Wolfe, Matthew Nestor, Melissa (Jeffrey) Hamrick, Allen (Crystal) Nestor, Chris Sisler, David (Leslie) Sisler, Jen (Jared) Sisler, Brandon (Emily) Molnar, Cameron Molnar, Samantha Holt, Tyler (Maggie) Holt, Lauren and Adriana Holt, Brevin and Braelyn Cummings, Mark Holt, Steve Holt, Marcia (Randy) Fullmer, Audra Rolen, Timmy (Jessica) Holt, Richard McClung, Michelle Jeffrey and Dustin and Ashley McClung. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and great-great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Woodie Nestor and Howard Holt; siblings, Geraldine, Junior, Edmund, Gertrude, Laura, James “Jim,” Susan and Allen “Roy”; son, Larry Holt; and son-in-law Tom McClung.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21, and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time on Tuesday, Feb. 22, with Pastor Kevin Leadbeater officiating. Interment will follow at the Gladesville Cemetery.
