Wendy Lambert

Wendy Marie “Thunder Kitty” Lambert, 35, of Washington, Pa., formerly of Morgantown, left this life on the evening of Feb. 7, 2022. She passed peacefully of natural causes. Wendy was born in Morgantown on Nov. 19, 1986, a daughter to Jerry Ray Lambert, of Maidsville, and Melody Cottrell Lambert.
Wendy was a graduate of Morgantown High School and later attended M-Tech to receive her certification in culinary arts. She developed a food allergy that devastated her dream of commercial cooking. She quickly switched gears and attended Ross College, where she learned the fast-paced trade of a pharmacy technician.

She worked at WVU Hospital, Department of Pharmacy, before taking a position with Omnicell in 2016 and recently relocating to Cranberry Township, Pa.

She held several roles at Omnicell, most recently as a senior system integration specialist within Robotics and Automation Engineering. Daily, Wendy would share her love of pop culture, gaming, music, movies, food and art, in addition to providing her expertise as a pharmacy technician to Systems Engineering. Wendy brightened the workday of every person she interacted with.

Wendy, or “Thunder Kitty” as she was known among her peers of the Morgantown Roller Derby, first jammed with Firefox and would later join the traveling team, The Morgantown Roller Vixens. She was proud of her petite stature of 4 feet 11 and 3/4 inches tall. Don’t forget the 3/4. She was fiercely competitive in everything she did. Wendy was a no-nonsense kind of girl with the heart of a lion and the temperament of a mother bear.

Words couldn’t begin to capture her outgoing personality. She enjoyed her D&D games with Cousin Travis. She was crafty, loved reading, attending Comic-Con and kayaking. She valued the relationships she made and will be missed by so many. If you were lucky enough to know her, she became your family.
Survivors include her beloved fur babies, Freya Marie and Morrigan Ray; her father, Jerry Ray Lambert and stepmother Donna, of Maidsville; sister, Amy Cavallier, of Morgantown; brother, Rob Lambert and his girlfriend Tasha Johnson, of Parrish, Ala.; sister, Carol Summers and husband John, of Reedsville; nieces and nephews, AnnMarie, Anthony and Drew Cavallier, Leonard Lambert and Kristen Summers; and aunts and uncles, Chuck, Brad, Peewee, Connie, Lisa, Rick, Cathie and Linda. Also surviving are numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Melody Cottrell Lambert.

The family will receive friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14, with Pastors Dan Meadows and Shawn Davis officiating. Cremation will follow with a private scattering service held by the family.

To honor Wendy’s bright and colorful life, please wear your favorite tie-dyed or band T-shirt and bright-colored attire.
