Dana Marie Johnson Gerard, 69, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 2, 2022, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after a long-fought battle with cancer.
Born Jan. 27, 1953, in Morgantown, Dana was a daughter of the late Dallas and Luella Emerson Johnson.
Survivors include her husband of almost 47 years, Michael E. Gerard; two children, Justin Michael Gerard, of Morgantown, and Kayla Richie and her husband Jonathan, of Morgantown; two grandchildren, August Lane and Sloane Marie Richie; and a brother, Allen Johnson and his wife Mary, of Brookhaven.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Frum.
Dana was totally devoted to her family, and adored her grandchildren. She loved birdwatching and buying flowers.
She worked in the banking industry for many years and at the Mountaineer Mall in their office.
At her request, Dana has been cremated and no services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, whom the family is forever grateful to for the care given to Dana throughout her illness.
