Richard Alan Jones, 66, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at home, with his loving family by his side.
He was born June 28, 1955, to the late Carl and Maxine Jones.
Rick grew up in Westover and graduated from University High School in 1973. After owning his own tire shop with his brother, he started what would become a long career in sales that culminated with him operating his own business, Jones Distributing. He retired from a position in maintenance facilities with West Virginia University.
Rick, along with his wife of 44 years, Terry, raised three children, Ricky, Samantha and Sarah Jo — all of whom he was very proud. He was known for his quick wit and amazing sense of humor. He loved music and singing, entertaining and hosting his family and many friends. He was a caring and generous man, who adored his grandkids. His greatest joy was having everyone at his home for barbecues and games. He loved the outdoors, cutting wood and fishing, and was at his happiest when hunting. He was a great provider and support for his family, always ready to lend a helping hand or advice on fixing or building things. He coached his children through all their sports as they were growing up, and later loved cheering on his grandkids in their endeavors. He will be missed more than words could ever express.
His memory and legacy will be carried on by his wife Terry; son Ricky (Jaime); daughters, Samantha and Sarah (Bobby); grandchildren, Ethan, Twila, Vera, Fiona and Madden; brothers, Rob (Tara), Les (Barb) and Wayne (Becky).
The family would like to send a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice Care and their caring nurses, especially Carla.
Visitation will be at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 4-7 p.m. Monday and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, time of the funeral service. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
