Sandra “Sandy” Kay Pride, 74, of Morgantown, passed away Feb. 4, 2022, at her son’s home.
Sandra was born in Morgantown on March 24, 1947, a daughter of the late Clensford “Happy” Helmick and Francis Pringle Helmick.
Sandra worked as a school cook for many years at Clay-Battelle High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed swimming with her grandkids and watching them in sports, where she never missed a game.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, Jill (Michael) Strahan, of Carmichaels, Pa.; her sons, Mark Pride, of Tucson, Ariz., and Erik (Jennifer) Pride, of Morgantown; grandchildren, Brandon Pride and Dulce Pride, of Tucson, Ariz., Andrew Strahan and Austin Strahan, of Carmichaels, Pa., Ashley (Jonathan) Stanley, of Augusta, Madison (Cody) Wilson, of Jakes Run, and Dillon Pride and Alexis Pride, of Morgantown; and great-grandchildren, Aliyiah, Kaleigh and Paityn Stanley, all of Augusta, and Camilla Pride, of Tucson, Ariz.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Pride II; and brothers, Alan Dale Helmick, Roger Lee Helmick and Randy David Helmick.
The family would like to thank Sandra’s caregiver and daughter-in-law, Jennifer, for all of her love and care that was given to Sandra.
A private funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 7. McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
