David Goldberg, president and CEO of Mon Health, has been recognized nationally as one of 113 top health care leaders in the U.S. by Becker’s Hospital Review, an independent, respected and authoritative resource for hospitals and health systems.
Chair of the Mon Health System board said the recognition is warranted.
“David Goldberg is a true asset to our healthcare system and our communities. We are delighted to see him recognized for his outstanding work,” said Ron Stovash, chair of the Mon Health System Board of Directors. “He is a Mountaineer who understands our communities and brings a wealth of experience to the job of creating high-quality, efficient and effective healthcare close to home for the friends and neighbors we serve. Under David’s leadership, we have expanded our services and strengthened our position as the healthcare system of choice for north-central West Virginia.”
In its announcement, Becker’s wrote, “Mr. Goldberg ensures high-quality, patient-centered care at Mon Health System.”
Becker’s said its selections focused on “leaders who champion innovation and have built a solid cultural foundation for success in the future.” Now more than ever, Becker’s wrote, “healthcare needs strong leaders … to navigate their organizations through the pandemic and digital transformation.”
Becker’s also cited Goldberg’s previous leadership as senior vice president of Highmark Health’s Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, where “Mr. Goldberg oversaw eight acute care hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care centers, full-service ambulatory pavilions and network joint ventures throughout the AHN’s Pennsylvania service area.”
As a graduate of West Virginia University with over 20 years of senior healthcare leadership experience, Goldberg, his wife Noel who is also a WVU alum, and his family are West Virginians by choice and are invested in the local community.
Goldberg represents Mon Health System on multiple organizations across the region and was integral in establishing a new philanthropic alliance locally, 100+ People Who Care to help support and raise money for charities in West Virginia.
