Vernon E. McCarty, 86, of Shrewsbury, Pa., formerly, of Bruceton Mills, passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, in his home.
The son of the late A. Cecil McCarty and E. Grace Ringer McCarty, he was born May 15, 1935, in Bruceton Mills.
He is survived by his wife, Janet S. Friend McCarty; a daughter and her husband, Lisa and Daniel Wojnowski; two sons and their wives: Michael and JoAnn Lee McCarty and Brian and Dawn McCarty; loving grandchildren: Michael Wojnowski Jr. and wife Ana, Nicholas Wojnowski and wife Katherine, Zachary Wojnowski and wife Brittany, Abigail McCarty and Molly McCarty; cherished great-grandfather: Grace, Diana and Daniel McCarty, and Lauren, Morgan and Olivia Wojnowski; dear sisters: Janet Rishel and Frances McCarty; nephew and wife Jason and Chrissy Rishel and their son, Wyatt Rishel.
Family and friends may call at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home Inc., in Baltimore, on Saturday. There will also be a visitation in the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, and from noon until the 1 p.m. service on Tuesday, Jan. 24, with Pastor Barry M. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.
It its requested that masks and social distancing be observed.
