Marvin Benton “B.J.” Frankhouser, 84, of Bruceton Mills, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at his home.
The son of the late Cloyd and Gladys Christopher Frankhouser, he was born May 27, 1937, in Hudson.
Marvin “B.J.” was a 1955 graduate of Bruceton High School. He was employed at the Albright Power Station for 38 years and enjoyed working and caring for the Frankhouser Farm, as well as caring for the Sugar Valley Cemetery. He and his wife helped many people.
Marvin’s desire was not to go to a “home” when he was no longer able to care for himself. His sons, along with the help of Amedisys Hospice, family and friends, were able to keep him in his home.
He is survived by two sons, Marvin L. Frankhouser and his wife Veronica, of Fairmont, and Edward Frankhouser, of Bruceton Mills; six grandchildren, Kevin and Travis Frankhouser, Joe Poe, Jake and Tom Frankhouser and Shera Winters; a brother, Cloyd Ray Frankhouser, of Albright; and a sister, Carol Ann Frankhouser, of Hazelton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Teter Frankhouser, on Nov. 14, 2004; and two sisters, Sylvia Miller and Linda Hoover.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, and in the Sugar Valley United Methodist Church on Route 26, Bruceton Mills, from noon until the 1 p.m. service Friday, Jan. 14, with Pastor (son) Marvin L. Frankhouser officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Valley Cemetery.
Because of the high incidence of COVID, the family requests that those attending the visitation and funeral service wear a mask and practice social distancing.
