Wilda Ridgway

Wilda Jean Snyder Ridgway, of Tyrone Road, Morgantown went to her eternal resting place Sunday morning, Dec. 26, 2021, at her home with her devoted daughter at her side. She was 91 years old.

Wilda was born in Morgantown on Dec 9, 1930, a daughter of the late Grant U. and Nellie I. Sanders Snyder.

She graduated from University High School, Class of 1948, and attended Morgantown Business College.

She was employed at the WVU Library, Circulation Department from 1951-1962, and WWVU/WNPB TV from 1963 until her retirement in 1992.

Wilda is survived by her daughter, Virginia Susan “Ginny Sue” Ridgway, with whom she made her home.

In addition to her parents and brother, Warren Ulysses Snyder, in infancy, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Dean Ridgway.

Friends may join the family to honor Wilda’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown, from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, and again from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, officiated by Pastor Ray Frankhouser. Following the funeral service, Wilda will be laid to rest with her husband at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.

Face coverings will be required inside the funeral home. At the request of the family, everyone in attendance should dress casually.
