Paul Edward “Eddie” Lawson, 77, of Rivesville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, at his home. He was born Feb. 28, 1944, in Morgantown, a son of the late Marion Paul Lawson and Julia Mundell Hunt.
Paul served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He worked many years as a mechanic at the South High Exxon and even enjoyed working on cars at home. In his spare time he liked being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Marian Lawson; sons, Tracy Lawson, of Ohio, Paul Lawson Jr. and wife Heather, of Point Marion, Pa., Ralph Lawson and wife Michele, David Lawson and wife Athena “Sunshine” and Alvin Lawson, all of Morgantown; his faithful canine companion, Toby; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Sanders.
The family will receive friends at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20. Eddie will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
