Charles Enrico “Chuck” Johnson, 64, of Arthurdale, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, with family by his side.
He was born in Osage, on March 30, 1957, a son of the late Charles and Eleanor (Vespi) Johnson.
Chuck was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was employed by Glotfelty Tire Center in Morgantown as a mechanic for many years. He enjoyed hunting. Prior to moving to West Virginia, Chuck enjoyed working on his son’s racecar.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Margaret Catherine “Cathy” Johnson; six children, Christina Howdershelt and husband Justin, of Reedsville, Samantha Taylor, of Morgantown, Tammy Faye Sheppard and husband Phil, of Cawood, Ky., Roger Lee Welch and wife Jennifer, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Melissa Ann Williams and companion Larry, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Ronda Kay Mitchell and husband Noah, of Brooksville, Fla.; three siblings, Dennis Johnson and a wife Linda, of Morgantown, Linda Brown and husband Marvin “Brownie,” of Reedsville, and Kathy Tokarcik and husband Bob, of Westover, 14 grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Allyssa Mullins, who took amazing care of Poppy during his illness, and a special grandson, Tanner “Shorty” Howdershelt; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lynniegh Winters, and one infant sister, Maryann Johnson.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, from noon-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5. To honor Chuck’s wishes, cremation services will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Field Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
