Betty Jean Reckart, 93, of Bruceton Mills, Mountain Dale community, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
The daughter of the late Ralph and Grace Bowman Romesburg, she was born on March 2, 1928, Deep Creek, Md.
A member of the Mountain Dale Church of the Brethren, Jean worked at Sterling Faucet and Big Bear Campgrounds for many years.
She is survived by one son and his wife, Larry “Bob” and Selma Reckart; two daughters and their husbands, Susie and Jim Wolfe and Connie and Skip Nieman, both of Bruceton Mills; a daughter-in-law, Linda Reckart, of Bruceton Mills; and one sister, Ann Shank, of Swanton, Md. Also surviving are grandchildren: Teresa Nass, Jeff (Wendy) Reckart, Tammy (Randy) Spiker, Pam (Jeff) Olivia, Robbie Nieman, Jamie (Dan) Povroznik, Casey (Randy) Bolyard, Tracy Wolfe, Craig Wolfe, Nathan (Kayla) Ellis, Josh (Brandy) Reckart and Danny (Angie) Ellis; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer Reckart; son, Spencer Reckart; daughter, Phyllis Ellis; one sister; and four brothers.
A private funeral service will be held for the family and burial will be in the Reckart Cemetery in Mountain Dale, with the Rev. Dana Umble officiating.
Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills is providing funeral arrangements for the family.
