Diane Ruth Shelton, 75, of Katy, Texas, formerly of Masontown, passed away on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at Houston West Methodist Hospital.
Diane was born in Independence, on Aug. 20, 1946, a daughter of the late Carl and Ruth (Huffman) Wilt.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Diane is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Shelton; a son, Shawn David Newcome and wife Kelli; two daughters, Jacqueline Newcome-Kokosko and Beth Newcome; a stepdaughter, Monica Douthit; a stepson, Aaron Shelton; eight grandchildren, Samantha Holt, Heidi Newcome, Tyler Holt, Lauren Holt, Tasha Newcome, Alex Kokosko, Adriana Holt and Karoline Kokosko; a great-grandchild, Parker Holt; two brothers, Carl Wilt Jr. and Randy Wilt; two sisters, Glenda Zuchowski and Carol McCloy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Jack R. Newcome, and two sisters, Barbara McDougal and Colleen Adams.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19. Funeral services will be held at the Field Funeral Home, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, with Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating. Interment will be in Damon Cemetery in Newburg.
Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken, the social distancing 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests, whose health allows, are to wear a mask.
