Charmaine (Strait) Lightner, 80, of Columbus, Ohio (formerly of Hundred), was reunited with her husband, Philip, of 60 years, after passing away at home Oct. 30, 2021.
She was born April 21, 1941, in Glen Dale, to the late Stanley and Lena (McCullough) Strait.
She grew up in Aleppo Township, Greene County, Pa., and was a member of West Greene High School Class of 1959. Charmaine enjoyed being a homemaker and working and volunteering alongside Philip. Where there was one, there was the other. She enjoyed trips to the Amish Country, Boston and visiting her sister-in-law, Wilda. She was a long-time member and volunteer at the Hundred United Methodist Church. Charmaine loved browsing in bookstores, listening to music, reading and going out for lunch. She spent her weekend afternoons cheering on her favorite football teams or watching golf. She also kept a daily diary since 1973.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kelley (David) Caprio, of Worthington, Ohio; granddaughter, Lena (Lewis) Raibley, of Brookline, Mass.; grandson, Domenick, of Columbus, Ohio; her brother, Don (Francis) Strait; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Higginson, Ruth Ann Sincavage (Chuck) and Wilda Kocher.
Friends will be received at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, Telephone: 724-499-5181, from noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6. A funeral service will be held directly after the visitation with Evangelist Steve Stevens. Burial will follow at Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo, Pa.
