Michael Paul Foltz, 45, of Masontown, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, at home.
He was born in Hagerstown, Md. Jan. 28, 1976, a son of Paul E. Foltz Sr. (Cindy), of Martinsburg, and Deborah K. Neil Wolford (Frank), of Waynesboro, Pa.
Michael was a loving husband, father, son and grandfather. He retired from the Maryland Correctional Institute of Hagerstown as a correctional officer. Michael enjoyed doing Civil War re-enactments with his father and was an extra in the movie “Gettysburg.” He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. He was a 1994 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Tonya Lake-Foltz; one son, Shaun Foltz (Katelyn), of Fairmont; one daughter, Kaitlyn Travis (Dustin), of Reedsville; two grandchildren, Lukas Foltz and Sophia Travis; stepmother, Faith Aileen Bowman (John), who raised him, of Hagerstown, Md.; two brothers, Paul E. Foltz Jr., of Hagerstown, Md., and Richard D. Foltz, of Martinsburg; and three sisters, Michelle Glunt, of Waynesboro, Pa., Misty Ward (Dallas), of Hagerstown, Md., and Melanie Pepple (Mark), of Hagerstown, Md.
Michael was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, with Pastor Kenneth Lake officiating. Interment will follow in the Masontown Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken, the social distancing six-foot rule will be suggested and all guests who prefer to wear a mask are welcome to do so.
