Darwin Ray “Butch” Loughry, 69, Albright, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown.
The son of the late Robert Clayton “Porky” and Della Mae Thomas Loughry, he was born Sept. 9, 1952, in Terra Alta.
Butch worked for his brother, Moose, at Chase Trucking Co. and Hillside Trucking for several years. He enjoyed sports, NASCAR, the Steelers, Mountaineers and Pirates and spending time visiting at Little Sandy’s Truck Stop. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and he enjoyed his little buddy, Chance.
He is survived by three daughters, Karen Hershman and her husband Tim, of Terra Alta, Kelly Loughry and companion Nathaniel Grimm, of Albright, and Kerri Ann Loughry, of Morgantown; a son and his wife, Danny and Brandy Loughry, of Hazelton; a sister, Sheila “Sis” Loughry, of Reedsville; five brothers and their wives: Roger “Dano” and Tammy, of Thornton, Eddie “Moose” and Connie, of Terra Alta, Ronnie “Monk” and Lisa, of Bruceton Mills, Jimmy “Jimbo” and Lois, of Kingwood, and Randy “Stacks” and Missy, of Terra Alta; five grandchildren: Dylan, Tory Beth, Destinee, Lexie and Wyatt; a great-grandson, Caden; a bonus daughter, Samantha; bonus grandchildren, Carson, Paizley and Grady; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Yvonne Kelly Loughry; a brother, Robert Clayton “Bones” Loughry Jr.; and his sister, Barbara Jean Kenchiova.
Due to the increased prevalence of the COVID-19 virus, a public funeral and burial will be held at the Centenary Cemetery in Bruceton Mills, from noon until the 1 p.m. service on Wednesday, Oct. 20, with Pastor David Turner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
The Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, of Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, is in charge of funeral arrangements for the family.
