Jennifer “Jenny” Hilling, 55, of Morgantown passed away Thursday Oct. 7, 2021 at J.W. Ruby Medical Center in Morgantown.
Jenny was born in Washington, D.C., April 2, 1966, a daughter of Betty Jo Hilling and the late Richard Hilling.
In addition to her mother, Jenny is survived by her siblings, Beth Hilling and husband Dennis Fields, Greg Hilling and Bonnie White and husband Robert; nieces, Sierra McDonald and Becca Hilling; nephews, Luke White and Jake White; aunt and uncle, Linda and Rolfe McDonald; and cousins, April McDonald and Chad McDonald, his wife Marcy and their daughter Gabrielle. She is also survived by her best friend of more than 30 years, Franklin Sibbitt.
In addition to her father, Jenny was preceded in death by her grandmother, Hilda Hilling; grandparents, Raymond and F. Ethel Hershman; and aunt, Nancy Sanders.
Jenny graduated from Morgantown High School in 1984 and was employed for many years with the USDA Rural Development.
She loved family gatherings, especially when her mother was cooking, dearly loved animals, namely her beloved cats Rosa and Delilah, and loved to dance. Her love of music included playing flute in the band, learning to play the piano and a love of concerts of all genres and Broadway musicals, her favorite being “Cats.”
At her request, Jenny has been cremated and a life celebration will be held at a later date. Smith Funeral and Cremation Care is providing care and guidance to the family.
In lieu of flowers, Jenny’s family requests donations be made in her name with checks payable to The Monongalia County Humane Society for their stray and feral cat program. Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 390, Morgantown, WV 26507-0390.
