Deborah “Debby” Lee Feather, 64, of Reedsville, passed away from this life to her eternal heavenly home on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, at 7:01 p.m. at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital after a sudden battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her two sons as she left this Earth and entered heaven.
She was born on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 1957, in Morgantown, a daughter of Thelma D. Huggins, of Reedsville, and the late Howard Lee Huggins.
Debby was the picture of determination throughout her life and she left everyone feeling inspired from her strong words of encouragement and even stronger faith in God. Everyone in Debby’s life knew that she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was never afraid to share her faith with anyone. She was a lifelong member of the Mill Chapel United Brethren in Christ Church in Reedsville. Debby graduated from Valley High School in Masontown in 1975. A lifelong caregiver, she spent years of her life devoted to helping others being a CNA. She loved and cherished her family and friends with all of her heart and would take the time to reach out and shower them with her love. She had a way with words and always knew what to say to make you smile. Her laugh was infectious and would brighten up anyone’s day. Family was truly the most important thing to Debby. Simple pleasures were Debby’s greatest joys later in life, and she enjoyed watching her TV shows like “Bones,” singing gospel music and eating some delicious fried potatoes, onions and tomato sandwiches. She also enjoyed spending hours talking to her mother, Thelma Huggins. We are very saddened by her sudden departure; however, we are thankful that she is with God and is no longer in pain.
She is survived by her two sons, Jeremy Ray Feather and wife Tara, of Morgantown, and Jacob Lee Feather and companion Kaitlyn Blackwell, of Reedsville; the joys of her life, granddaughters, Alexis and McKenzie Feather; her brother, Bruce Paul Huggins and wife Judy, of Kingwood; her sister, Rebecca A. Brill and husband Dennis, of Wardensville; one sister-in-law, Marion F. Feather, of Kingwood; one niece and three nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Gary Ray Feather, in 2013; and brother-in-law, Joseph Ronald Feather.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price St., from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17, and in the funeral home chapel, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11 a.m. on Monday Oct. 18, with Pastor David Kisamore officiating. Interment will be held in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Long Hollow.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made in Debby’s memory to the Preston County Humane Society, P.O. Box 395, Kingwood, WV 26537.
Social distancing and masks are preferred.
