The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan is hosting eight free tire collection events in October.
Locations include Monongalia County, where tires can be dropped off from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Walmart, off I-68 Exit 1.
Another area location is in Taylor County from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Taylor County Fairgrounds.
The others:
- Kanawha County — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 16 at the former Herbert Hoover High School
- Ritchie County — 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at Simonton Windows (1 mile north on route 16 from Harrisville)
- Kanawha County — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 30, behind the Go-Mart in Cabin Creek
Individuals may dispose of up to 10 tires per person. The tires must be off the rims and only car and light truck tires will be accepted. To help limit the spread of COVID-19, the WVDEP requests individuals stay in their vehicles when dropping off tires.
