Jeffrey Grant Metheny, 44, of Bruceton Mills, (Glade Farms community), died October 1, 2021, at his home.
The son of Glen and Robin Wotring Metheny, of Bruceton Mills, he was born July 7, 1977, in Morgantown.
Jeff was a graduate of University High School, and he soon became a master of many skills. He was a huge animal lover and an avid hunter and fisherman from an early age.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Brian Metheny, of Washington, Pa., and Christopher Metheny and his wife, Laura, of Bruceton Mills; daughters, Taylor, Laura Leann and Cydney; nephews and nieces: Austin, Chance, Shane, Landin, Tristen, Ava and Finley, all whom he enjoyed calling “stupid face” or “sweet face;” grandparents: Dale and Joann Wotring and Eloine Metheny of Bruceton Mills; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandpa, Junior Grant Metheny; his great-grandmother, Ruby Michael; and his son, Collin.
Due to the increased prevalence of the COVID-19 virus, a public funeral and burial was held at the Blooming Rose Cemetery in Friendsville, Md., at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, where Pastor Steve Wotring officiated. Those in attendance were requested to wear masks and to practice social distancing.
The Carl R. Spear Funeral Home of Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, was in charge of funeral arrangements for the family.
