Service League of Morgantown will kick off the 14th year of its Charity Partner Program at the Old Stone House Gift Shop, 313 Chestnut St. in Morgantown.
Today through De. 31, 10% of the Shop’s gross sales will be donated to specific charities. The charity changes weekly.
This year’s charity line-up:
- Today-Oct. 10 — Bartlett House
- Oct. 11-17 — Scott’s Run Settlement House
- Oct. 18-24 — Christian Help
- Oct. 25-30 — Mon County Child Advocacy Center
- Nov. 8-14 — RDVIC (Rape and Domestic Violence Information Center)
- Nov. 15-21 — Community Kitchen at Trinity Episcopal Church
- Nov. 22-28 — Pantry Plus More
- Nov. 29-Dec. 5 — St. Ursula Food Pantry and Outreach
- Dec. 6-12 — CASA for Kids
- Dec. 13-19 — Meals on Wheels (Morgantown)
- Dec. 20-31 — Catholic Charities
With an abbreviated schedule last year due to COVID-19, Service League was able to donate $2,534 to eight local charities.
This year, The Old Stone House is open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday-Saturday. Shop hours expand to include Sundays from noon-4 p.m. in November and December. Private shopping is also available for times when the shop is closed. Private shopping appointments can be made by messaging the Facebook page or by calling 304-296-7825.
Owned and operated by The Service League of Morgantown since 1935, The Old Stone House carries a wide variety of gift and décor items, including handmade pottery by Elkins potter, Scottie Roberts Weist and hand-blown items from West Virginia’s Blenko Glass. The shop also carries hand-crafted items, used books and food items such as JQ Dickinson Salt, Blue Smoke Salsa, Leavitt Farm Moonshine Jelly and Family Roots Farm honey. COVID shopping guidelines are in place.
The Old Stone House Gift Shop, a retail outlet, and the oldest stone dwelling in Monongalia County, is run by volunteers from Service League of Morgantown.
Founded in 1935, Service League of Morgantown’s mission is to give back to their community to improve the lives of local citizens through charitable, educational and cultural activities. In its 86 years of existence, the league has contributed more than $401,000 to the Morgantown community.
