Jerry Lee Grimes III, 27, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 20, 1993, in Morgantown, a son of Jerry Grimes Jr. and Barbie Blosser Grimes.
Lee enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling with them. He also loved lights, his stuffed animals and balls. Lee’s favorite thing to do was eat. He especially enjoyed Reese’s Cups.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his mom-mom, Cat (Cathy Pierce); his sister, Jessica Conners and husband Andrew “Bubby”; niece and nephew, Tanner and Bonnie Conners; cousin, Parker Grimes, who was like a brother to Lee, and his wife Carrie and their children; paternal grandmother, Phyllis Grimes; uncles, Dayton Grimes and wife Charlotte, Robert Skipper and Buck Gray and wife Brenda; aunt, Kim Grimes; stepbrother, Robert Pierce; stepsister, Charlene Scott and husband Dean and family; a special aunt, Ruby Sanders; and many additional aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Lee was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jerry Grimes Sr.; maternal grandparents, Leon and Bonnie Blosser; uncle, Billy Grimes; aunt, Mary Lou Skipper; and uncle, Donald Summers.
Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5, with Pastor Casper Dalton Jr. officiating. Lee will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
The family would like to send a special thank you to all of the doctors and staff at Preston Memorial Hospital Emergency Department for all of the care they provided to Lee.
