Mrs. Peggy Smith Connell, 82, passed away peacefully on Sept. 17, 2021, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home at Otterbein Lebanon.
Peggy was born in Cincinnati to Wilfred and Evelyn Smith.
Peggy is survived by her children, Carin (Trevor) Blair and Kevin (Dante) Connell; grandchildren, Aidan and Mackenzie Blair and Katharine, William and Sarah Connell; sister, Joan (Ervin) Lipps; and many extended relatives and friends in Ohio and Morgantown.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Peggy was a proud graduate of Western Hills High School. She attended the University of Cincinnati and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority before eventually settling in her adopted home of Morgantown. Peggy loved West Virginia University football and basketball, but most of all the Pride of West Virginia Mountaineer Marching Band. She was active in the Service League of Morgantown, as well as local elections.
Visitation will be held at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231, from 10-11 a.m. when the services will begin on Monday, Sept. 27. Once on the grounds of the memorial park, follow the blue line to the funeral home. Peggy will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
