Wesley “Pete Mike” Allen Wiles Jr., 73, of Tunnelton, died on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at Mon Heatlh Medical Center, in Morgantown.
Wesley was born Dec. 4, 1947, in Grafton, a son of the late Wesley Emmet and Clara Belle (Fisher) Wiles.
He was a 1965 graduate of Tunnelton High School, a member of Grace House Church in Tunnelton and the Local Union 1980 District 2 United Mine Workers of America. He served in the U.S. Army and was an avid WVU and Steeler fan and loved to hunt and fish. He loved to be with his family and especially his grandkids. Wesley was known to all in the community as Papaw.
Wesley is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna Lou (West) Wiles; two daughters and spouse, Cindy and L.J. Smouse, of Albright, and Sherri and David Biggins, of Tunnelton; five grandchildren and spouses, Shelby and Ryan Johnson, Chyenne and John Dulin, Bryer and Makayla Smouse, Jesse Biggins and Fiancée Alisha Saunders, Colby Smouse; six great-grandchildren, Gunner and Hunter Swanson, Nash and Cooper Dulin, Sawyer Smouse and Weston Wayne Johnson, who is on the way; and very special friends, Cecil Moats and Vicky Green.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Roy “Pickle” Wiles; and one sister, Vicky Wiles.
Friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price St., from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 8, and in the funeral home chapel, from noon-1 p.m., the time of the funeral service, Thursday, Sept. 9, with Pastor David Biggins and Pastor Anthony Favro officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Tunnelton.
