Robert Allen “Crow” Metheny, 85, of Friendsville, Md., passed away on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at his home.
Born Aug. 24, 1936, in Terra Alta, he was the son of the late Ray Walter Metheny and Viola Marie (Lewis) Metheny Teets. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Sandy Metheny and Penny Shiflett; four brothers, Claude Metheny, Donald Metheny, Thomas Metheny and Darius May; three sisters, Patricia Metheny, Norma Rinella and Betty Liston.
Robert retired from General Motors Corporation in 1986 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. After his retirement from GM, he drove truck part-time for White Rock Wood. Crow enjoyed life, living life day by day. He loved spending time on the farm with his cat, Short Legs, and with his family and friends.
At Robert’s request, he will be cremated. His family is planning a memorial service for a later date. His cremains will be buried in Miller Cemetery.
