Steven Michael Miller, 47, of Cassville, departed this life peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, following a long illness.
Steven was born Jan. 28, 1974, in Morgantown, a son of the late Nellie Jean (Hlad) Miller. He was a Catholic by faith. A graduate of the West Virginia Junior College, Steven worked at several businesses in the Morgantown area. He enjoyed watching movies and playing games. In his younger years, Steven enjoyed bowling, golf and traveling with his brother, Ken, to ride the latest and largest extreme roller coasters.
Surviving are brother Kenneth Ray Miller II and wife Rebecca “Becky,” of Westover; aunts, Shirley Ann Hlad, of Morgantown, (who he was blessed to have as a second mother), Dorothy Jane (Hlad) Ferrise, of Morgantown, and Mary Sue Hlad, of Waynesburg, Pa.; special friend and caregiver, Pam Ervin, and goddaughter Shaynah Ervin, both of Cassville. In addition to his mother, Steven was preceded in death by his uncle, Alfred Hlad (who was like a father to him); uncle, Fred Hlad Jr.; and aunt Pauline (Hlad) Murphy.
Due to COVID, private visitation and services were arranged by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. Steven was laid to rest alongside his mother, Nellie Jean (Hlad) Miller, at the Beverly Hills Chapel Of Tranquility Mausoleum.
