Margaret Marie Smith, 89, of Kingwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, at home with loving family by her side.
She was born Sept. 26, 1931, in Kingwood, a daughter of the late Howard and Jessie Trowbridge Goff.
She was a loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, canning, her flower garden and Sunday dinners with the family. She attended the Bethlehem United Methodist Church and was a member of the women’s group that served dinners to the Lions Club in Brandonville. Margaret is the last survivor of her immediate family.
She is survived by two sons, James Smith and wife Kathy, of Bruceton Mills, and Sheldon Smith, of Kingwood; three daughters, Donna Miller and husband Jim, Dena Everly and husband Larry, all of Bruceton Mills, and Beverly Nicholas and husband Nickolas, of Canonsburg, Pa.; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was also preceded in death by her husband, Dayton Burrell Smith, in 2013; a daughter, Betty Smith Nestor; a grandson, Aaron James Smith; two sisters; and four brothers.
Friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 15, and from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m., the funeral hour, Monday, Aug. 16, with Pastor Steve Wotring officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
