Rose Marie Rowe, beloved wife of Larry, mother of Michael and Angie, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 17, 2021. She was born February 8, 1944, to Mauro and Sarah Rose Spina of Morgantown. She graduated from Morgantown High School and began her career at First National Bank of Morgantown.
Rose and Larry met riding the bus together during their junior year at Morgantown High School and married a few years after graduation. Last year they celebrated 56 years of marriage. As newlyweds, they enjoyed collecting American antiques together. Their hobby grew into a lifelong passion of great friendships and travels within in the antiques community.
While her children were young, Rose was a stay-at-home mother and will always be remembered for all the unique and special things mothers do to make their children feel loved. While the kids were in college, Rose purchased The Country Corner Gift Shop in the Ramada Inn in Morgantown, and took great care in selecting beautiful, unique gift items for visitors. Rose worked for the Center Service Auto Body family where she had many great friends. She took pride in her work and worked there for over
30+ years. Rose was always on the go.
Rose was a gifted cook and treated her family and friends to many delicious dinners. A favorite event was the annual Christmas Eve gathering which featured dozens of homemade Italian and American cookies. Anytime family could get together was reason enough for a great meal.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Maurina Gregg and Leatha Mogyoros.
She is survived by her dear husband Larry Steve Rowe, son Michael (Laura Crowder) Rowe, daughter Angela Mowe, and beloved grandchildren Sarafina and Siena Mowe, and Christopher (Emily) Crowder. She is also survived by a brother, Mauro A. Spina (Sandy) and sister Angel Bright.
