Charles “Jack” Blaney, born on June 10, 1933, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 5, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Jackson Blaney and Amy (Nabors) Blaney.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley (Beatty) Blaney, and a sister, Elizabeth (Blaney) Coppolino, of Germantown, Md. Jack is also survived by daughters, Andrea Cohen (Stephen) of Phoenix, Md., Leslie Murphy (Stephen), of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Tracey Cribbin, of Bethesda, Md. He was a grandfather to Garrett (Liz) Cease and Justin (Lauren) Cease, both of Great Mills, Md., Jaclyn Cohen, of San Diego, Jeremy Cohen, of Abingdon, Md., Aine Cribbin, of Las Vegas, and Aislin Cribbin, of Bethesda, Md. He was also a great-grandfather to Lacie, Lesleigh, Joseph and Jackson Cease and Wyatt Tatum as well as numerous extended family members.
He grew up in the Point Marion, Pa., area and served in the Army. Jack lived in the D.C. area for 38 years and resided in Waldorf, Md. for the last 23 before retiring to Myrtle Beach, S.C. in 1999. He worked over 30 years in the Bell System starting in Morgantown and retiring in Washington, D.C.
Jack was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was a Christian and he loved cruising, fishing, goose hunting and golf. He will be truly missed.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 11 a.m.-noon, Saturday, July 10, for a visitation. Following the conclusion of the visiting, friends and family will proceed to Zion Cemetery, Sunset Beach Road in Cheat Lake for a graveside committal service at the cemetery with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
