Katherine Vorbach

Katherine “Kay” L. Vorbach (nee Pauza), 95, of Morgantown, formerly of Orlando, Fla., died June 24, 2021, at Sundale Rehabilitation and Long Term Care.

Born in Uniontown, Pa., March 8, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Clara Boggio Pauza. Kay graduated from Cumberland Township High School, Carmichaels, Pa., then was admitted to the United States Cadet Nurse Corps and received training at the Monongalia Health Medical Center in Morgantown.

Kay married Robert “Bob” Vorbach, the love of her life, in 1948 on their way to Florida. They spent many happy years in the Sunny State until their health brought them back to Morgantown to be closer to family.

Kay was preceded in death by her older sister, Alice Mae Pauza, and her younger brother, Charles Pete Pauza. She is survived by her nephew, Charles David Pauza and his daughter, Victoria Olivia Pauza, of Gaithersburg, Md., and by her niece, Patricia Mae Nyhoff, of Chico, Calif.
At Kay’s request, cremation has been entrusted to the Behm Funeral Home in Waynesburg, Pa. There will be no public service.
