Ronald James VanScoy, 65, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021. He was born April 3, 1956, in Steubenville, Ohio and moved to Morgantown as a child, where he remained until his death.
Most important in his life was his family, especially his four grandchildren. He was extremely proud of the success his children had reached. He loved sports and was a devoted fan of West Virginia University and the Steelers. He had loved music and had a soft spot for animals.
He was a graduate of University High School, Class of 1974. Beginning a career as a milk driver and deliverer, he progressed to supervisor of operations in Fairmont. He retired in 2016.
Ron is survived by his wife, Margaret (Mo); his children, Adam (Heather), of McDonald, Pa., and Rachel (Dusty), of Morgantown; and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Mason VanScoy and Brady and Amelia Hays. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Chrzaszcz, of Morgantown; and brother, Michael VanScoy, of Austin, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald VanScoy; his parents, Leonard and Rose Marie VanScoy; and grandparents, James and Madelyn Kyle and Vance and Mabel VanScoy.
Cremation and other arrangements are being provided by Hastings Funeral Home.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 18.
In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations could be made to WVU Medicine Hospice at UHC, 2673 Davisson Run Road, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
