Velma Shaver, 91, of Rowlesburg passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Stonerise Kingwood.
She was born May 24, 1930, in Manheim, a daughter of the late Rennis and Maude Bolyard Shaver.
Velma completed her grade school education at Manheim and graduated from Rowlesburg High School, Class of 1949. She then joined her sisters in Baltimore, and obtained employment for the United States government as a bookkeeper until she retired. After her retirement, she returned to Rowlesburg to be with her parents and sisters. Velma enjoyed going back to the beach at Ocean City, Md. with family and friends. At home, she spent time mowing and caring for flowers, the garden and the family cats.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Shaver, of Kingwood.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn and Ethelyn Shaver.
Friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood, from 1-2 p.m., the funeral hour, Sunday, June 13, with Pastor Wendy Brown officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
