Marilyn Manilla, 90, a longtime resident of Morgantown, died on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Marilyn was born on July 28, 1930, in Pittsburgh, to the late Reba and Jack Jacobson. She was the oldest of seven children.
Marilyn was an active community volunteer, a member of the Tree of Life Congregation and assisted her husband of 54 years at his place of business, The Army Store.
Marilyn never met a stranger, loved being with people and continually made new friends. She was smart, sassy and sophisticated, loved her dogs, and could cook a mean brisket.
Marilyn is survived by her three children, James Manilla (Jan), of Morgantown, Barbara Callahan (Rence), of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Sarajane Kiser (Dwight), of Franklin, Tenn; seven grandchildren: Lawren Desai (Jigar), Zach Manilla (Apryl), Jay Callahan (Katie), Marc Manilla (Kristi), Harrison Kiser (Chelsea), Janey Manners (Ryan) and Stanton Manilla; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert; a sister, Marsha; and her very dear friend, Ann McCardle.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley; her brother, Bernie; and sisters, Susan, Barnetta and Nancy. A private service will be held. Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
