Joyce Taylor

Joyce J. Taylor, 78, of Arthurdale, died on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown. She was born July 21, 1942, in Bobtown, Pa., and later lived in Bald Hill, Pa.

She attended Bobtown Grade School and Mapletown High School, graduating in 1960. Joyce worked for WVU in Morgantown and Parkersburg. After retirement, she worked for Hospice Care in Arthurdale.

Joyce enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She was a friend to those around her and wanted, through her hospice work, to help improve the welfare of others.

Joyce married Paul H. Taylor on Aug. 12, 1972. Their union remained for 32 years until Paul’s death in February of 2005. Together they lived in Kingwood for a short period, moving to Lubeck for Paul’s work. After his retirement, they moved to Arthurdale in 1991.

Joyce is survived by her stepdaughter, Nancy Taylor Brugh and husband Kone, and their children, Emily Brugh Allen and husband Ray and Blair Brugh; grandson, Eli Allen; and several cousins on her mother and father’s side of the family.

In addition to her husband, Paul, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline Pierce Wrick and Frank Wrick; siblings, Thelma Wrick Pollak and Charles L. Wrick; and stepson, Timothy Taylor. She was also preceded in death by the children of Thelma Wrick Pollak.

Also, special thanks to her Goshen Baptist Church family for their prayers and help. They all sacrificed time with family to help and for her.

Joyce’s family will receive friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, from 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, until the time of services at noon with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mount Morris, Pa. All guests will be asked to properly wear a face covering and socially distance.
