Franklin Junior Cole, 68, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 17, 1952, in Oakland, Md., a son of the Grover Franklin and Nina Alice Christopher Cole.
He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. Franklin worked as a coal miner for 29 years at Island Creek and Consol Coal Co. and for Sheidow Bronze for eight years. He loved watching WVU games and NASCAR racing, working with wood and enjoyed hunting and riding his four wheeler with his granddaughter, Kiley. He was a long-time member of the Fraternal order of Eagles Club in Kingwood.
He is survived by his two sons, Shelby Cole and Richard Cole, both of Masontown; his daughter, Sherry Seymour and companion Buddy Roy, of Reedsville; three brothers, Terry Cole and wife Linda, of Tunnelton, Willard Cole and wife Ruby, of Thornton and Larry Cole, of Morgantown; four sisters, Judy Haskiell and husband Joe, of Tunnelton, Connie Morris and husband Don, of Newburg, Alice Hunt and husband Ron, of Grafton, and Katherine Harrison and husband Ron, of Kingwood; a sister-in-law, Beverly Cole; four grandchildren, Marandia Taylor, C.J. LaRue, Hayden Cole and Kiley Cole; two great-grandchildren, Bradley LaRue and Emily Moats; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Cole, and a niece, Michelle Bolyard.
Friends may call at Browning Funeral Home, in Kingwood, from 2-8 p.m., Thursday, May 20, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 21, with the Rev. Ray Frankhouser and Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Masks and social distancing will be observed during the visitation and funeral service.
