BRUCETON MILLS — A fire Sunday burned several acres of mulch at the Grant County Mulch Plant on Glade Farms Road.
Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Derrick Crane said employees at the mulch plant pulled the mulch while the fire department personnel fought the blaze.
“A cause has not been determined,” Crane said, “but it took a significant amount of resources to put the fire out.”
He said tankers were used, because there was no source of water on the site.
Crane said about 14 fire departments were involved in battling the fire. He said those with tankers included the Bruceton-Brandonville VFD, the Albright VFD, the Friendsville, MD Fire Department, the Markleysburg, PA fire department, and the Farmington, PA fire department.
