Mary Jean Hindman, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021, in Westernport, Md.
The daughter of the late Lewis Russell and Pauletta Metheny, she was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Brandonville.
Mary worked for Capital Airlines in Washington, D.C., and West Virginia University in Morgantown.
She is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Chris and Mark Sprouse, of Keyser, and Kim and Bruce Engler, of Great Meadows, N.J.; two sisters, Patricia Gutta, of Morgantown, and Joan Hill, of Philippi; a half brother, Earl Metheny, of Potomac, Md.; a half sister, Betty Metheny, of Silver Spring, Md.; grandchildren: Danielle Karlson, of California, Nicole Finnegan, of England, Dr. Ryan Sprouse, of Harpers Ferry, Casey Sprouse, of Barboursville, and Cameron Sprouse, of Morgantown; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, Julia Stern and Nancy Hill; and nephews and their spouses, Frank and Kim Gutta and Greg and Pam Gutta.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Penny Metheny; a brother, Dean Metheny; and a son-in-law, Danny Quigley.
A private graveside service was held for the family Friday, April 30, 2021, at The Shady Grove Cemetery in Bruceton Mills.
Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
